WELCOME TO DINOSAUR STAMPEDE NATIONAL MONUMENT 

Experience the only known dinosaur stampede on the planet! 

Guided tours take 45 minutes and start from 9.30am. Lark Quarry Conservation Park is open from 8.30am to 5pm.  

OUR GUIDED TOURS INCLUDE:

  • Over 3,300 dinosaur footprints scattered over the rock face

  • Animated recreations of the dinosaur stampede - as it may have happened 95 million years ago

  • A movie presentation in the Trackways Theatre

  • The history of Winton's trackway discoveries and conservation

The Spinifex Circuit is a self-guided walking circuit around the Dinosaur Stampede National Monument. A lookout offers spectacular views of rolling Mitchell grass downs, framed by characteristic red earth Jump-Ups found at Lark Quarry Conservation Park. A recyclable flyer is also available at Dinosaur Stampede to interpret the local environment during the walk. 

Remember to bring a hat and plenty of suncreen!

Access & Facilities Access & Facilities

The Dinosaur Stampede National Monument reception building, including access to the trackways, is fully wheelchair accessible. 

The Spinifex Walk is recommended for people of reasonable mobility as there are stairs and some uneven surfaces.

Unisex toilets, shaded picnic areas and parking are available at the entrance to Dinosaur Stampede National Monument. As Dinosaur Stampede National Monument is located at Lark Quarry Conservation Park, pets are prohibited from leaving the carpark.
