Environmentally Relevant Activities


 

Environmentally Relevant Activities (ERAs) are activities that will, or have the potential to, release contaminants which may cause environmental harm, into the environment. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and local governments across Queensland are jointly responsible for regulating ERAs. The Winton Shire Council has been delegated by the State Government to licence and inspect the following ERA’s.

To be a licensable ERA business you must:

·         Comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1994

·         Comply with the Environmental Protection Regulations 2008

·         Comply with the Environmental Policies

An application applies to proposed new installations and variations of an existing licence. You will need to complete the necessary licence application form and pay the required fee. The form can be obtained from the documents sections on the Council website. Applications must be made with the Winton Shire Council for the above activities.
