Pools
Pool Fence:
· Pool fence is separating pool from neighbour
· Pool fence is restricting access from house to pool
· The pool fence is at least 1.2 metres high all around the pool
· The bottom of the pool fence is less than 100 millimetres of the ground
· All vertical uprights or near vertical uprights are less then 100 millimetres apart
· Al horizontal or near horizontal rails are 900 millimetres apart
· Top of pool fence is 900 millimetres from last horizontal rail
· Pool fence is well maintained, no holes or broken rails
· Pool fence is at least 900 millimetres away from any object that would allow a child to climb over the fence.
Pool Gate:
· Closes by itself from any position
· Latches by itself when it closes
· Open outwards, away from the pool
· Is never propped open or tie back or any other obstruction from stopping it to close automatically
· Latch release is at least 1.5 meters above the ground
New Pool
· Get building approval
· Display warning sign that a pool is under constructions
· Obtain certification for the fence
· Obtain final inspection of pool and fence
Doors and Windows
· Check to make sure there are no doors and windows opening directly into the pool area
